The Role:

- Ensure the delivery of appropriate services to children and their families, according to their assessed needs

QSW - Leaving Care Team - London – London

The Role:

- Providing a high standard of social work support to young people aged 16 years and above and Asylum young people, living in and leaving care to improve their life chances, safety, accommodation needs, education and employment, finances and independence skills.

We are seeking an experienced Team Manager with extensive statutory work experience. This is a locum role to start as soon as possible, the contract is for 6 months and with the likelihood that it will extended further.

Main Activities
The project team will consist of 2 team managers, 10 social workers and 5 senior family support workers who will undertake timely assessments of children and families in order to make decisions’ as to what support may be required for the children’s needs to be fully met and for them to achieve.

As a Team Manager in the Assessment Project you will be managing and supervising a team of 5 experienced social workers in undertaking s47 and S17 assessments with the thrust being that of achieving a quick turnaround in caseloads. You will be tasked with helping to drive the performance agenda as well as help embed the Signs of Safety Model whilst getting regular supervision from an experienced service manager. The role will involve flexibility around working from home in an accountable manner conducive to administering your roles.

The Candidate

Possess strong leadership and motivational skills
Hold current HCPC registration and a relevant Social Work Qualification

Aurora Resourcing is working closely with a local authority to recruit a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub Social Worker (Adults) on a full time basis.

This locum post will be based in a leafy, cultural town of South Surrey, please discuss with Li Li for specific details.

There is no requirement for you to drive for this position. Furthermore, the MASH is a non-operational role so there is no direct client contact. This is a very exciting role, it is very different from standard Adult Social Worker posts, as you will not be undertaking visits and will be mainly office based.

Duties and Requirements:
• The successful candidate will routinely work with multi-agency referrals that present particular complexities arising from e.g. legal issues, statutory requirements, disputes within families, care and support needs, mental health concerns, DoLS issues, criminal behaviour.
• To have experience with and be able to prioritise and manage a duty Inbox of partner agency referrals including Police, Ambulance, Fire Service, Trading Standards, Children’s services, Health, Provider agencies.
• Have comprehensive understanding and experience of working with relevant legislation in Adult Social Work settings including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
• Be clear on professionally accountability as a qualified social worker, including adhering to sharing information legislation and relevant protocols to ensure appropriate sharing of information in a multi-agency environment.
• Are professionally competent and have experience of dealing with complex safeguarding cases.
• Have excellent risk assessment skills; be skilled at analysis of complex information within referrals.
