Aurora Resourcing are working in partnership with a local authority in Norwich to recruit an experienced Qualified Social worker to join the Children’s MASH Team. You must have MASH experience in order to be considered for the role.

The daily rate for this post is £275, mileage is 45p per mile. Around £37.50 per hour

The Role and Requirements:

You will have experience of working in a frontline team with a thorough understanding of thresholds and universal services.
Within this position you will be required to be the first point of contact for all referrals to the service including early intervention, disabled children and the children’s hospital team.
As a Qualified Social Worker you will work closely with partner agencies and the MASH social workers, duty team support officers and social work assistants who will act as researchers collating information.
Holding current HCPC registration you will have at least relevant experience.

Main Activities
The project team will consist of 2 team managers, 10 social workers and 5 senior family support workers who will undertake timely assessments of children and families in order to make decisions’ as to what support may be required for the children’s needs to be fully met and for them to achieve.

As a Team Manager in the Assessment Project you will be managing and supervising a team of 5 experienced social workers in undertaking s47 and S17 assessments with the thrust being that of achieving a quick turnaround in caseloads. The role will involve flexibility around working from home in an accountable manner conducive to administering your roles.

- Have comprehensive understanding and experience of working with relevant legislation in Adult Social Work settings including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Mental Health Act.
- Be clear on professionally accountability as a qualified social worker, including adhering to sharing information legislation and relevant protocols to ensure appropriate sharing of information in a multi-agency environment.
- Are professionally competent and have experience of dealing with complex safeguarding cases.
- Have excellent risk assessment skills; be skilled at analysis of complex information within referrals.

Role

• Experienced Children's Services LAC social worker required to undertake statutory visits
• You will arrange and complete PEPs
• Contribute to LAC Review process
• As a Social Worker you must have experience of working within a statutory environment within Children's Services and worked with children who have become looked and worked within a statutory permanency team
• To develop and execute care plans in order to improve outcomes for Looked After children
• To undertake assessments under the national assessment framework
• To refer young people, families and carers to appropriate specialists services
• To be responsible for a caseload allocated
• To prepare reports and attend court in accordance with child care legislation

Requirements
• HCPC Registration with relevant post qualifying experience
• Full UK driving Licence and own car
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of all legislation, especially that relating to looked after children
• A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people
• Ability to work as part of a team

• The presentation of applications to the fostering panel

• Regular visits to carers and the young people in their care
• Reporting and recording on foster carers performance, needs and on placement progress

You will be:
• HCPC registered with considerable post qualification experience ideally within LAC and Fostering.
• Have access to a vehicle for some travel around the Mid Devon region.
